AI-powered Google Review responses that know when not to respond
Review Nova automates routine Google Review responses while making sure sensitive reviews get human attention.
Built for businesses that depend on their reputation
Local businesses know they should respond to Google Reviews, but keeping up takes time. Review Nova was designed to handle the routine work automatically while keeping business owners in control when a response requires judgment.
It learns how a business communicates, drafts responses in that voice, and determines whether a review can be safely handled automatically or should be sent to the owner.
The Problem
Google Reviews matter to local businesses, but responding to every one consistently takes time. Many owners either respond late, do not respond at all, or fall back on generic, copy-paste replies.
Simple AI auto-responders solve the speed problem but introduce a new one. They typically decide whether to respond automatically based on star rating alone. A high rating gets an automatic thank-you. A low rating gets skipped or flagged. That approach misses a basic fact about reviews.
Five stars doesn't always mean safe to automate.
Star rating alone doesn't tell you whether a review is safe to answer automatically. A glowing review can still contain a serious complaint buried inside the praise.
"Loved the vibe, loved the pastries, the staff could not have been nicer. Only downside is I ended up feeling pretty sick a few hours after eating the egg salad sandwich. Still coming back for the coffee!"
Sees five stars. Posts an enthusiastic automatic thank-you. Misses the possible food-safety issue entirely.
Detects the possible food-safety issue and routes the review to the owner instead of posting automatically.

How It Works
A simple workflow. Smarter responses.

Connect a Google Business Profile.
Review Nova learns the business's writing style from previous responses.
"Thanks for the kind words! We're so glad you visited."
New reviews are analyzed for context and risk.
Routine reviews receive an appropriate response automatically.
Sensitive reviews are sent to the owner with a drafted response.
Approve, edit, or discard directly from email.
Automation where it's safe. Your judgment where it matters.
Responses that sound like the business
Review Nova learns from responses the business has already written, including tone, response length, greetings, sign-offs, use of names, and how criticism is handled.
If there isn't enough history, a short onboarding interview establishes the business's preferred voice.
Designed to know when AI shouldn't answer
Review Nova looks beyond star ratings to identify sensitive topics such as safety concerns, discrimination, employee accusations, legal threats, fraud, privacy issues, and serious service failures.
It combines rule-based screening with AI analysis. If the system can't confidently determine that a review is safe to automate, it sends it to a person instead.
When in doubt, don't auto-post.
No dashboard required
When a review needs attention, the owner receives an email showing the review, why it was flagged, and a drafted response.
The owner can make the decision directly from the email without logging into another system.
Designed to sound human
Automation shouldn't make every business sound the same. Review Nova learns how each business communicates and checks generated responses for common AI writing patterns before they're used.
The goal isn't to make the response sound like AI. It's to make it sound like the business.
Built for reliability
Review Nova was built with safeguards around the places where AI can fail. External services are isolated so the system can be tested without touching live customer accounts, automated tests cover both normal and failure scenarios, and protections prevent the same review from being posted twice.
The prototype has been validated with 900 unit tests and 49 end-to-end tests covering the workflow from review analysis through response approval.

Current Status
Review Nova is a working prototype tested with sample Google Review data. The next step is connecting a live Google Business Profile once API access is approved and validating the workflow with real business reviews.
Hive Nova also offers this same star-rating-aware, human-escalation approach as a dedicated service for restaurants. See Google Review Automation for Restaurants for how it works in that context.
